Yamaha Introduces Piaggero Portable Keyboards

Piaggero Keyboards

A contraction of the words piano and leggero, which is Italian for "light", this new line of light weight keyboards emphasizes portability. The NP-V60 and NP-V80 are both 76 note keyboards with new levels of interactivity and piano voice quality to complement their new standard for portability.

"With the evolution of portable keyboards over the years, manufacturers have been packing in more and more features, like 76 keys and hundreds of Styles and Voices," said Dane Madsen, marketing manager, Yamaha Electronic Keyboards. "With that, the products have gotten bigger and bigger. Now with our Piaggero line, not only have we made the size slimmer and lighter, but we've also streamlined the interface to be as inviting and intuitive to pianists as possible."

Perfect for musicians that require extreme mobility or have minimal space available, the NP-V60 and NP-V80 Feature the Graded Soft Touch keyboard action. Featuring exclusive Yamaha styles, both pianos have a USB-to-host interface that allows connection to PCs and MACs and allow them to work with a wide variety of computer based applications. Both pianos weigh less than 16 lbs, include 361 XGlite instrument Voices, and feature 30 internal songs for use with the Performance Assistant function and lessons.

The NP-V80 adds an enhanced internal sound system, a foot switch/sustain pedal, an intelligent arpeggiator that adapts to the user selected voice, and the ability to save and load song content via the USB-to-host port. Both units are expected to ship this summer.
